Friends of the Library
ABOUT THE FRIENDS
OUR MISSION
The Friends of the Gilford Public Library, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to raise funds for the purposes of supporting the programs, services, and special needs of the Library. Additionally, they serve as an advocate of the Library and support the mission of the Board of Library Trustees.
When We Meet
The Friends meet the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Library.
What We Do
Bookworm Shop
Open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. when the library is open. Come browse our extensive selection of gently used books (adult and children), movies, and puzzles for only 50 cents - $1.00! The Bookworm Shop is located on the lower level, next to the Children's Room.
Book Sales
We accept donations of hardcover, paperback fiction and nonfictions books; books on tape/CD; videos and DVDs. All items should be in good, saleable condition. Please bring your books to the front desk and call ahead if you are dropping off large quantities, as space can be an issue.
Old Home Day is our largest book sale. We also hold open houses throughout the year with books and gifts available to purchase. These special sales are held both in the Bookworm Shop and in the Exhibition Area on the main floor.
Higher value books are available for purchase on our Amazon account.
Museum Passes
The Friends sponsor the passes offered at the Library for various museums and attractions throughout New Hampshire. See View Library Hours/Services on Library's main page for a complete listing of passes available.
Summer Reading Program
This year the Friends are accepting sponsorships for the Children's Summer Reading program. Please contact Alexis Jackson if you are interested in supporting this important program that benefits the children of Gilford.
Other
Subscriptions, special purchases and programs that enhance Library goals are funded by the Friends.
If you or an organization you are affiliated with are interested in sponsoring any of these programs please contact the Library staff or one of the board of directors.
